A three-time Grammy Award-winning US rock band formed in San Francisco in 1994 by singer Pat Monahan, guitarist Rob Hotchkiss, guitarist Jimmy Stafford, drummer Scott Underwood and bassist Charlie Colin.
They quickly gained fame with a style that combines both rock and pop elements: they released their first eponymous album in 1998, which included the song “Meet Virginia” that charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Their real breakthrough came with the 2001 album “Drops of Jupiter”, which went double platinum in the United States and Canada, with the title track propelling the band to superstar status. This success was crowned in the same year by winning Grammy Awards for Best Song and Best Artist.
Their 2009 album entitled “Save Me, San Francisco” went quintuple platinum in the USA. This album included hits such as “Marry Me,” “If It's Love,” and “Hey, Soul Sister,” which earned the band its third Grammy Award and reached 1.6 billion Spotify plays and 377 million YouTube plays.
