Milky Chance draw from folk, rock, reggae, jazz and electronic music to create their world hits, which have been downloaded over a hundred million times. The band was founded by two German high-school friends, singer/guitarist Clemens Rehbein and bassist/percussionist Philipp Dausch. Yet inspired by artists such as Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the musicians’ style is difficult to pin down due to their uniquely mixed cavalcade of styles. 

They exploded onto the scene in 2013 with their single Stolen Dance, which reached 925 million downloads on YouTube. After the stunning success of the single, they released their debut album Sadnecessary, which produced another single, Down by the River, that proved to be a worldwide hit, just like the first. 

They have toured across Europe, Australia and America, performing at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds Festivals, and at Sziget, whilst also appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s Live show. In 2014, they won the European Border Breakers Award.
